Steps:

First of all you need to go to Webmaster tools page.Then simply login to your account and if you don't have any account then take a second to create a new account.After successful login, you need to add your website.Just click on "Add A Site"button to add your website.Give your website URL.

Now a new window will open which will ask you to verify that you are the owner of the website you are adding.You can simply do it by downloading the HTML page and upload it to your website Root directory by using any FTP client.

Or you can use meta tag to verify the ownership of the website.

If you want to use meta tag method then you can use Insert Header And Footer plugin . Now Go to settings and click on Insert header and Footer and paste the code and your website will be verified.
